2000 Richard was a co-founder of SPECTAIRE INC, Cambridge, MA, a non-profit collaborative of event designers and artists. To creatively implement COMMONLIGHT, a series of four seasonal light events for the City of Cambridge and Cambridge Arts Council to celebrate the MILLENNIUM, the SPECTAIRE collaborative produced four vast city-wide events. The collaborative was involved in all phases of production for these events.The City of Cambridge received four events, unparalleled in scope to celebrate it’s history, commerce, and civic mission.

2000, CAMBRIDGE ARTS COUNCIL, Cambridge, MA. "Illuminations" an exhibition of digital IRIS prints for the benefit of AIDS patients in the city of Cambridge.

1999-2000, AQUINE.COM, Boston, MA, an online gallery of fine art. Richard served as curator, preparator and wrote copy about the artists’ work for publication on the web site.

1998 "Light Fall" SASAKI ASSOCIATES, architects, Watertown, MA. Collaborative installation with Matt Belge of folded aluminum screen sculpture and computer controlled projected theater light.

1994 "Light Forest" DeCordova & Dana Museum & Sculpture Park, Lincoln, MA. Collaborative installation with Matt Belge of folded aluminum screen sculpture and computer controlled projected theater light.

1993 "Light & Word" Lugh Fine Art, Cambridge, MA. Collaborative sculptural installation with Matt Belge & Nicholas Rofougaran of folded aluminum screen sculpture and computer controlled projected theater light.

1992 "Blood & Stone" Mobius Performane Space, Boston, MA. Environmental lighting design for an electronic tuba duo performance of Philip Van Ouse and David Auerbach.

1990 "Shadow Garden" Herning KunstMuseum, Herning, Denmark for "KAEGLE, KAERN, LUYS" an exhibtion dedicated to light in art to celebrate the Danish summer solstice. Folded aluminum screen sculpture and computer controlled projected theater light installation.

1989 "Dark Star" Bromfield Gallery, Boston, MA. Folded aluminum screen sculpture and projected theater light installation.

1986 "Shadow Dream" The Brucknerhaus, Donaupark, Linz, Austria for ARS ELECTRONICA an annual festival dedicated to technology and art. A collaborative outdoor sculptural environmental artwork with Matt Belge consisting of folded aluminum screen sculpture and computer controlled projected theater light.

1986 "Imagining Antarctica" Municipal Museum of the City of Linz, Austria. Conceptual artwork comparing climatological data on Antarctica

1985 "First Light" for FIRST NIGHT, Boston, MA. An outdoor environmental light work at the FIRST Unitarian Church, Boston, MA employing computer controlled theater light to evoke the Aurora Borealis.

1984 "Tetrahedra & the Penumbra Effect" for FIRST NIGHT, at the Alpha Gallery Newbury St. Boston, MA. An installation of folded aluminum scr een sculpture and cast shadow.

1984 "Light Garden" for Art & Light Symposium at the Center for Advanced Visual Studies, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA. An installation of folded aluminum screen sculpture and projected theater light.
